As they say in the pageant world, the higher the heel, the closer to God. At the Jimmy Choo dinner to celebrate the launch of the new Richard Phillips collaboration in Miami on Friday night, high-heel, handbag, fashion, and art deities were out in full force. The, ahem, well-heeled guests included Meredith Melling Burke, Roopal Patel, and couture and art collector Becca Cason Thrash, who after buying up loads of art with her husband, stayed on to party. "I've never met a party I didn't like!" she said. Yvonne Force Villareal, who on Thursday night told us she had a low-key evening planned, revealed that the night turned out to be anything but. "I ended up at DJ Javier Pérez's party at a strip club. He gave me a pile of dollars to use on the strippers, but I never used a single one, so all day I've been shopping with my dollars!" Right before the three-hour dinner, Jimmy Choo founder Tamara Mellon told us what inspired the new clutch. "I've always been a fan of Richard's, and when I found this old clutch in a thrift store made with a magazine cover, I thought it would be great to create a similar clutch with a contemporary artist." VIP guests received handbags in their gift bags and rumblings of a swap meet were well under way by the time dessert rolled out.
