Alicante

Woke up in a daze.
The hangover was not helped by a tall ship parade that ploughed by our ship booming canons and waving great, grand flags.
We toured the lovely old town and strolled the promenade, which reminded me of Nice, visited the City Hall where I fell in love with the John the Baptist sculpture by Dali and the mosaic floors that resembled cross stitching.
After a beer break we headed for the hills to the fortress where we had a spectacular view of the terra cotta tiled roofs and cerulean sea.
After our day trip we lunched by the pool on the ship, tanned, read and then changed for cocktails with the Captain.
Dinner and nightcaps followed and we promptly passed out at 11pm. Vacation has begun!
